Mainz, Germany --- At the 3rd Sino-European Corporate ESG Best Practices Conference held recently in Mainz, Germany, the Artificial Intelligence Sub-Forum, hosted by China Unicom (Europe) Operations Limited, attracted numerous guests from China and Europe. Attendees engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics including China-Europe AI industrial synergy, technological innovation, and application scenarios.

Huang Yiyang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Frankfurt, stated in his opening address that artificial intelligence is reshaping the global technological innovation landscape and industrial development models at an unprecedented speed. He noted that as both China and Germany are innovation-driven economies and major manufacturing powerhouses, the two countries possess complementary strengths and broad opportunities for cooperation in the field of AI.

Han Xing, President of China Unicom (Europe) Operations Limited, remarked at the sub-forum that AI is becoming a transformative force reshaping the economy and society, deeply intertwining with ESG issues. As a telecommunications and digital infrastructure provider, China Unicom views AI as both an opportunity and a responsibility, committing to leveraging technology to facilitate green transition, enhance social inclusion, and adhere to data security and responsible governance. He emphasized that AI is becoming the "new electricity" of the digital economy, and can only create lasting value when combined with trust and human-centric principles.

The forum was moderated by Dr. Elmar Stumpf, Chairman of the China Netzwerk Baden-Württemberg. Dr. Andreas Widl, CEO of Germany's SAMSON Group, presented the experiences of German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in intelligent transformation. Dr. Li Xinrong, Senior Technical Expert UniDT Co., Ltd., shared practical approaches to empowering manufacturing upgrades through AI. Wang Dongning, Director of the Nanjing Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, outlined Nanjing's exploration in advancing China-Germany AI cooperation. Maryann Tseng, Chief Strategy Officer of Phancy Group Co., Ltd., elaborated on the role of AI in supporting green transformation. Xu Rongning, CEO of Top Education Group Ltd., discussed new challenges in educational governance in the AI era.

A major highlight of the event was the dynamic appearance and interaction of the G1 humanoid robot from China's Unitree Robotics alongside a robotic dog from Germany's MYBOTSHOP. Demonstrating smooth motion control, intelligent interactive capabilities, and versatile real-world scenario performance, the two robotic "guests" won widespread attention and enthusiastic responses, fully exhibiting the innovative vitality of AI and embodied intelligence while adding a strong futuristic and technological atmosphere to the conference.

In addition, Zhang Min, Overseas General Manager of Unitree Robotics; Dr. Huang Ye, General Manager of Solutions for Central Europe at Alibaba Cloud; Danny Ehlerding, Key Account Manager Europe at MYBOTSHOP; and Dr. Zhou Xun, AI Technical Director at the China Unicom (Hong Kong) Innovation Research Institute, participated in a panel discussion titled "AI Reshaping Industrial Futures: Technologies, Applications and Opportunities under China-Germany Collaboration." Representatives from Chinese and European industries, technology sectors, and academia held in-depth discussions on AI industry trends, technology deployment, commercial application scenarios, and policy governance, exploring new opportunities and directions for China-Germany AI cooperation.

In recent years, China Unicom has continuously deepened cooperation with various sectors in Germany and Europe in fields such as digital infrastructure, cloud-network integration, and artificial intelligence. Hosting this AI sub-forum marks another key step in China Unicom Europe's active engagement in the China-Europe digital economy dialogue. The company stated that it will continue to leverage its network and computing power advantages to foster deeper and more practical China-Germany AI cooperation.
